Rosatom sees peaceful nuke deal with Iraq straight after talks

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Jun 23 (PRIME) -- Russia will sign documents with Iraq on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear power as soon as negotiations are over, nuclear corporation Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachyov told PRIME on Wednesday.

“As soon as the negotiations are over, we will,” Likhachyov said.

A Rosatom spokesperson told reporters earlier that Russia and Iraq are discussing cooperation in various areas of peaceful use of nuclear power, including energy projects, while work is underway to create a regulatory framework for such a partnership.
